  As I write this I recall that I was asked if I wanted to buy service contracts with my new Elite (Frig, Convection Oven, Convection Microwave, and Dishwasher) Products when I purchased them 2 years ago. "Nope-Had Kenmore before - best appliance products I've ever had," I replied. THAT - WAS - A - MISTAKE.. If you buy Sears appliances - buy a service contract. You are going to need it. The Elite Convection Oven fans sound like a Blackhawk Helicopter taking off. Had Sears come out and they replaced them within 3 months. They are just as noisy now. My Elite Frig - the ice maker makes block ice - and the compartment door freezes closed. AND - opened the frig door one morning only to find the the Crisper Drawer Shelf cracked/broken.. We bought Sears thinking we'd be set through retirement - never have to worry or buy anything again. But Kenmore does not make the products anymore - the cheapest bidder does, and it is showing. If I could go back 2 years - I'd buy LG. That's what my last round of appliances were - and they performed like the old Kenmore stuff did. Never had a problem. Understandable why Sears is struggling.
